While the USA might have some of the most well known road trips on the planet (we're looking at you, Route 66), Europe has continually held its own with fantastic routes like the Douro River Trail, the Dolomites, and pretty much anywhere you visit in the Rhône Alps. And while the US has a big love of Truck Campers and Class A Motorhomes, Europe has, and always will be, a camper van Valhalla.

Take a look at the 2026 Kosmo Supremo from Italian-based Laika, an enhanced version of the Cosmo that truly captures the timeless design that my fellow Italians are known for. It's still based on a Fiat Ducato chassis, though comes in at a little longer with an extra 59cm length, though instead of shipping in a standard white colour scheme, the Supremo champions the Italian spirit with bold colours based on a truly traditional European lifestyle - Arancio Sicilia (Orange), Azzurro Capri (Blue) and Verde Mugello (Green).

One thing you'll hear me say a lot in these articles is that I lived and travelled in a camper van for 5 and a half years, so when it comes to looking at interiors, I come at it from the point of view of 'What makes a tiny home comfortable?'

I'm not normally a fan of a modular bed and have always opted for a fixed bed, but as I now have lots more goods to store when on the road like paddle boards and a dog that likes to sprawl out, I'm firmly on board with having a central walkway and lounge seating, especially when it comes to making friends on the road and having somewhere to relax indoors when its raining outside (don't forget I live in the UK and it rains a lot here!).

The modular bedroom has lots of overhead storage, perfect for keeping clothes and belongings dry and out of sight (and out of mind), and there's also a little bathroom complete with a toilet, shower pan, and mirror, complete with a shower screen that keeps the rest of the van dry. Again, I personally don't use showers inside of camper vans because of the steam they produce in confined spaces, but I know that they're a desirable feature for a lot of van lifers who don't like using the communal blocks or washing in streams.

I'm a big fan of the fixed seating in the dinette area for extra passengers to hang out in while on the road, and the swivel captains chairs that finish off the living area.

The Kosmo Supreme makes maximum use of the space available in clever ways and comes with some great features such as a heated and insulated waste water tank, faux leather on the walls, folding shelves for food and spices in the kitchen, and a mosquito net for the side door (I wish I'd had one of these in Liguria!).

There are so many customisable options when configuring your specific design too, including pre-installing a 12V fridge, different leisure battery configurations, solar panels, heating systems - you name it, and Laika have thought of it.

So, how much could you expect to pay for a Supremo? Well, prices start at around £71,800 and reach upwards of £80,000+ depending on your specifications. The Supremo is a beautiful looking build that comes with all of the mod cons you need for life on the road, and it does it all for a reasonable price too! Head to the Laika website for more details!
