It might just be me, but I really feel like Hyundai has evolved over the last few years. Their vehicles are becoming incredibly well-designed, are pushing the limits of modern technology and look visually pleasing to the eye.
Then, they go and reveal a concept camper vehicle at this year's CMT in Stuttgart, which looks like it has come from the future.
You wouldn't really think of Hyundai in any conversation about camper vans, but that could change as they kitted out their newly announced Staria van with camper van features such as a fold-down bed, a power-operated pop-up roof, a small kitchen and an electric awning.

This is their fully-electric concept van created by Hyundai's design team in response to the demand for "electric mobility and experiential travel" across Europe. They're seeking feedback too, which will go on to assess the demand for it, and possibly then move into production.
Hyundai wants this to support off-grid stays in a comfortable form, even going as far as adding a lightweight composite solo 520W solar panel into the pop-up roof, which can generate 2.6kWh of electricity per day.
This can help power the 36-litre fridge, the portable shower at the back, and a super-modern temperature control system to keep you warm throughout the day and night.

As mentioned, this is packed with tech, such as adding adjustable smart glass in the rear of the camper, allowing you to control the transparency and shading of the glass from the control panel.
This offers improved UV, thermal and acoustic insulation which conventional glass cannot do. That's pretty darn cool if I do say so myself!

Electric camper vans still get some stick for the short range on their batteries, and I kinda agree with that. But I do own an EV myself, so I am biased in the sense that I prefer EV's for everyday use. Long-haul travel on batteries can be cumbersome at times.

But it's where it's all heading, and Hyundai has responded to comments regarding the battery.
"Its advanced 800-volt high-voltage architecture – already proven in IONIQ 5, IONIQ 6, and IONIQ 9 – enables DC fast charging from 10 to 80 per cent in around 20 minutes under optimal conditions".
Which is pretty darn quick. This looks to be an exciting camper van for those that want modern technological features, Hyundai's beautiful vehicle design and camper van-focused interior/accessories that will make weekend and week-long trips an absolute breeze.
I am very excited about this one, and I'll be personally keeping my eye on it in the hope that it does become a reality. Do it, Hyundai!
